Calcium CMC is calcium salt of Carboxy Methyl Cellulose.

Calcium CMC is highly pure white powder used for tablet disintegration.

Carboxymethylcellulose Calcium is insoluble in water but it swells in water and Calcium CMC used as super disintegrant in pharmaceutical tablet formulation. Calcium CMC helps tablets to disintegrate rapidly and also improves dissolution properties.

Calcium CMC performs well with hard tablets where other disintegrants do not perform well.

CMC is widely used in food products to absorb and hold water, to control crystal growth, to thicken, as a binder, to increase shelf life, and to provide desired texture or body. Its largest volume use is in the preparation of dry pet foods that form their own gravy when warm water is added.
